WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET TO ASPEN, COLORADO?

Here are 5 ways that visitors can get to Aspen. You can fly commercial into Aspen directly, fly to Denver (or Vail or Grand Junction), or take a private jet straight to Aspen.

1. FLIGHTS TO ASPEN

The Aspen-Pitkin County Airport is small, but it gets a lot of traffic. Depending on where your bridal party is coming from, you may be able to get a direct flight to Aspen. If not, Denver International Airport is a major hub for all airlines. It is very easy to get a direct flight from your state to DIA. There are normally about 8 flights a day from DIA to the Aspen airport. It is a quick jump from the mile high city to your bachelorette destination.

The biggest benefit of flying into ASE is the close proximity to town. The airport is about 15 minutes away from the heart of Aspen. Most hotels offer shuttle services to and from the airport. Your concierge can also arrange for a party bus, limo, or luxury sedan to transport your party from the airport.

2. FLY TO DENVER, DRIVE TO ASPEN

Who doesn’t love the scenic route? Due to winter weather, it is not always possible for visitors to fly directly into Aspen. In some cases, flights from Denver to Aspen get canceled due to the snow. Visitors sometimes have to take a shuttle, a private car service, or rent a car to get from Denver to Aspen. The drive normally takes about 4 hours, depending on the weather. Although long, this drive can be very enjoyable. You will love the scenic views of the mountains and get a real taste for Colorado. There are also many mom and pop restaurants, candy shops, and novelty stores on the way. You may accidentally stumble on the best fudge you’ve ever had in your life!

This option is ideal for bridal parties that want the road trip experience. However, the distance from DIA to Aspen is 200 miles. If you don’t want to drive, your concierge can arrange group transportation.

3. FLY TO VAIL, DRIVE TO ASPEN

In the winter months, some find it easier to fly directly into Vail. Vail is closer to Aspen than Denver; however, finding a rental car is a little more difficult. You have to travel to Avon or Edwards first as there are no car rental locations in Vail.

If landing in Vail first, have your concierge arrange a private Aspen airport car service. This will be the most convenient and reliable way to get to Aspen from Vail.

4. FLY TO GRAND JUNCTION, DRIVE TO ASPEN

Whether flying private or commercial, getting to Aspen by way of Grand Junction is a great option. Grand Junction is closer to Aspen than Denver but a little farther away than Vail.

Your expert concierge will know that you will likely need a car service to get you from the airport to Aspen. Lean on your concierge to determine the best luxury car service that will allow your wedding party to enjoy themselves all the way to your destination.

5. FLY PRIVATE INTO ASPEN

The final way to get to Aspen is on a private jet. This option is very popular for bridal parties that want to get the party started even before they arrive in Aspen. Flying private is a great way to skip the stress of traveling, while enjoying quality time with your closest friends.

When traveling via private jet, due to weather you most often come by way of Rifle Garfield County Airport which is 65.6 miles from Aspen. In the even of poor weather, you could be sent through Grand Junction Regional Airport which is 130 miles from Aspen or Eagle which is 70 miles from Aspen.

SHOULD I BOOK A HOTEL OR A VACATION RENTAL FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY?

Aspen bachelorette parties can be held at either a hotel or a vacation rental. Both would make great accommodations, but it depends on the needs of your group.

Hotels offer several benefits specific to bachelorette parties. ALC can book multiple nearby rooms for your bridal party; potential discounts may be available if you book 10+ rooms. Hotels also have amenities like valet, bars, restaurants, in-room dining, and spas on site. However, hotels are not always the best place to pregame or to bring the party back to. With hotel rooms, your party won’t have a large, central location to hang out together.

Vacation rentals are increasingly popular choices for bachelor and bachelorette parties. It is easy to keep the party going when everyone is sharing a house. However, vacation rentals are usually farther from the center of town than hotels. For bachelorette groups that want to fly in for a weekend, there may be a challenge finding rentals that will accommodate as there is usually a 5-7 night minimum. For shorter stays, hotels may be the better option, as they accommodate 3-4 nights. If you find that a rental works well for you and your party, contact Aspen Luxury Concierge to arrange luxury transportation as it’s a must when staying outside of town.
